If we will just wait on God, trust Him in all things, and leave our hope in only Him then the outworking of our faith in Him will glorify Him and accomplish great things for His name.
In Daniel Chapter 3 we hear of 3 young men that clung to their faith in God and refused to dishonor Him despite being under the threat of being thown into a fiery furnace. We see the result of their unwavering faith, something which would not have happened if they caved in to fear, in that the king of Babylon... the king of the known world, made a "decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this." What a great proclamation of God's saving power! All because these 3 young men were willing to stand in their faith in their God.
In Acts 16:18-34 we see Paul and Silas in prison after being beaten. At midnight they were praying and singing hymns to God despite their situation. "Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here. Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”" Due to Paul and Silas' faith (despite their situation) the Philippian Jailer and his whole household was saved!
